A red glass FR. Stübgen & Co. - Fledermaus 2850, Red Railroad Lantern. The glass is embossed with the 'Fledermaus' (Bat) and beneath this the words D.R. Patent, Made in Thuringia.

Based in Erfurt, Germany, the Stübgen & Co. trademark was the Bat. The top of the lid is marked 2850, the fuel tank is marked with the bat, D.R. Patent and Made in Thuringia.

A fantastic looking vintage lantern with the original red glass. A nice addition to a collection, but also excellent to use as lighting in the house or in the garden.

Condition

The lantern appears to be in very good condition, there are no noticeable scratches or dents. I have only cleaned the outside and have no idea if the lantern would work, I see no reason why it would not work. I am selling as is.
