This is a beautiful Victorian Jackfield teapot. This type of ware is known as Black Jackfield - it has a black glaze over a red clay body. Most of the pieces referred to as Jackfield today are black-glazed, red-clay wares made at the Jackfield Pottery in Shropshire, England, in Victorian times.
Condition
Both the teapot and stand are in very good condition. There is some roughness on the edge under the lid, this does occur in red clay pottery.
