An amazing heavily engraved Phillip Ashberry and Sons, Sheffield, silver-plated Victorian biscuit barrel. This wonderfully ornate biscuit box is numbered 1271, this indicates manufacture was approximately 1882.
A very special biscuit barrel.
The barrel is in very good condition. There are two small dings on the underside of the barrel and another at the base of the shield on one side. Plate loss and scratching is minimal, I cannot see any repairs. It is in very good condition for its age, the wear is as would be expected.
